Kentucky Sports Handle Hits $1.36 Billion Six Months After Opening

Kentucky began legal online betting on Sept. 28, 2023, and the retail market began just a few weeks ago on Sept. 7. The new figures, released by the Kentucky Horse Racing Board, are applicable through the end of February this year.

Of the total amount of bets placed on sports during this period, $1.3 billion was bet online and $57.3 million was bet on retail sportsbooks. In terms of revenue, the overall regulated market earned $169.3 million in the first six months. That includes $163.8 million in online betting revenue and $5.6 million in retail betting revenue. Players earned $1.35 billion in total from sports betting while the state collected $23.8 million in taxes.

FanDuel Dominates Kentucky Online Market
Looking at individual operators, FanDuel and partner Turfway Park led the way in the online segment. Total online betting revenue over the period stood at $478.6 million to $62.8 million.

DraftKings, who works with Cumberland Run, trailed closely with $61.1 million in revenue. That’s despite receiving $499 million in bets over longtime rival FanDuel.

Elsewhere, Bet365 and Sandy’s Racing and Gaming posted online revenue of $93.6 million to $15.4 million. Another partner in Sandy’s, BetMGM, reported excluding $6.6 million from the $56.6 million deal. 슬롯사이트 순위

Caesars and Red Mile grossed $8.9 million from $81.6 million in bets in total. ESPN Bet grossed $65.3 million to $7.2 million with partner Ellis Park. Panatics and Oak Grove rounded up the online market with $1.9 million in revenue and $25.2 million in steering wheels.

As for the retail market, Caesars and Red Mile topped the list with $3.2 million in revenue with a $19.3 million deal. Churchill Downs and Cambie came in second with $20.2 million to $12 million, followed by Turfway Park, another Cambie retail partner, coming in second with $8.8 million to $451,185.

February sports betting handling nears $201M
Looking at the most recently reported month, total spending in February reached $284.4 million. Of this, $198.6 million was betted online and at $9.8 million in retailers.

Overall market revenue totaled $28.5 million, including $20.8 million in online revenue and $722,390 in retail revenue.

DraftKings and Cumberland led the online market with $8.3 million in revenue from a $78.9 million bet. FanDuel and Turfway Park came in second with $6.6 million to $7.7 million.

Turning to retail, Caesars and Red Mile were solid market leaders with $749,423 in revenue and $3.4 million in handling. Churchill Downs and Kambi came in second with $3.2 million to $61,977.
