WON YOON-JONG, MIN YURA AND MAGNUS NAMED GANGWON WINTER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAME’S ROLE MODEL’S

Won Yun-jong (KOR), silver medallist in bobsleigh at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and Kim Magnus (NOR), gold medallist in cross-country at the 2016 Lillehammer Winter Youth Olympic Games, have been selected as official Athlete Role Models (ARMs) for the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games 2024.The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on its website today the first 11 Athlete Role Models for the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games .These athletes will serve as role models by sharing their experiences and knowledge with young athletes participating in the Winter Youth Olympic Games .In addition to Won Yun-jong, three Korean athletes were selected: Min Yura (figure skating) and Kim Chang-min (curling).Born to a Norwegian father and Korean mother, Kim Magnus won two cross-country titles at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway .He represented South Korea until the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and has since continued to compete in Norway .In January this year, he competed at the Winter Collegiate Games in Lake Placid, USA, where he flagged off the Norwegian team at the opening ceremony and won three silver medals .Nao Kodaira (JPN), who performed a ‘race of friendship’ with Idealisation in speedskating at the Pyeong Chang 2018 Winter Olympics, was also recognised as an Athlete Role Model.
