GSW, Team Leaves Tamson Permanent Resolution “Legendary Contributions, Looking forward to Retiring with Uniform 11”

The Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA) said in an official statement that they will designate Clay Tamson’s uniform number as permanent. Tamson has been retired as a free agent, but the team seems to have made the choice to honor his contribution.

Golden State posted a statement on its official website on the 2nd (Korea Standard Time), saying, “I can’t overemphasize the amazing and legendary contribution of Tamson who has played for the club for 13 years,” adding, “There are several NBA records, including four NBA Finals wins, six finals, five All-Stars, the most points scored in a quarter (37 points) in NBA history, and the most three-point shooting in a game (14 points).”

“The joy and happiness that Tamson has brought to Golden State fans and communities around the world have been indescribable. His tendency to excel in the most urgent situations on the biggest stage, including many heroic scenes from Game 6, helped define Tamson’s career,” he said. “Tamson’s legacy will live on forever, and we look forward to the day he retires with his No. 11 jersey at Chase Center along with the immortal players who have recently formed the club’s dynasty, including him.” Finally, he added, “I would like to thank Tamson for his contribution and wish him the best when another chapter is written on his journey.”

Tamson is a guard who has devoted himself to the team for 13 years since he wore the Golden State uniform as the 11th pick in the first round of the 2011 rookie draft. He has played as one of the best 3&D resources in the NBA due to his excellent 3-point shooting ability and defense. In particular, he played a big role in establishing the Golden State dynasty in the 2010s by showing good teamwork with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

As the club mentioned, Tamson’s 3-pointer, which burns in Game 6 of the playoffs (PO), was dubbed “Game 6 Klay” locally. 동행복권파워볼

However, Thamson will take on a new challenge by signing a three-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks as the extension contract with Golden State failed after the 2023-24 season. Dallas signed and traded a three-year, $50 million contract to Thamson and built a backcourt leading to Luca Doncic, Kyrie Irving and Thamson.

Since his debut in the NBA, Tamson has recorded an average success rate of 19.6 points and 3-pointers in 793 games. According to ESPN on the same day, his 98th win in PO with Curry-Tamson-Draymond Green ranks third in the history of the Big Three joint ventures. His four wins are tied with the record set by the Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker trio, who have the most wins in this category.
