SOUTH KOREA DEFEAT SOUTH AFRICA TO ADVANCE TO THE 9TH-12TH ROUND OF THE JUNIOR WOMEN’S HOCKEY WORLD CUP

South Korea’s junior women’s national team has advanced to the ninth through 12th round of the International Ice Hockey Federation (FIH) World Cup. South Korea, coached by Kim Sung-kyung (KT), drew 1-1 with South Africa in the ninth through 16th place match on day six of the 10th FIH Junior Women’s World Cup in Santiago, Chile, on Saturday (June 6) before winning 3-2 in a penalty shootout. Korea will face India on Monday for a spot in the 9th-10th place match. Korea took a 1-0 lead in the first quarter on a goal by Lee Seo-yeon (Korea Gymnastics University) before giving up a goal to equalize in the second quarter.
