The Nevada Gaming Control Board reported Tuesday that downtown Las Vegas topped $1 billion in state gaming industry revenues in October, with a record $90.5 million. For the 20th consecutive month that it has reached this level, a 6.4% year-over-year increase in gambling taxes of $76.5 million.
In October, a total of 437 licensed casinos in Nevada generated $1.3 billion in revenue, up 4.8% year over year. The highest gambling wins were seen in Clark County, as most of the population resides in the Las Vegas census county department. In fact, 215 Clark County game venues won $1.1 billion, up 4.5% from the previous year. Las Vegas Streep earned $758.8 million in 58 locations, up 0.5% year over year.
While doing well at every location, downtown Las Vegas beat expectations with the casino winning a record $90.5 million. October’s record beat the previous record of $86.4 million set in March. 파친코
Some areas have been influenced by calendar-moving events for other months previously scheduled for October. Michael Lawton, senior economist at the Control Board, pointed out an example of the Las Vegas Streep:
“The Las Vegas strip remained flat as a result of a decrease in volume and hold, resulting in a decrease in baccarat wins, resulting in a decrease in game and table multipliers,” he said. “In addition, poker is down significantly from World Series poker held in October last year compared to June and July this year.”
The strip was up just 0.5% in October 2022 compared to October 2021, but its October 2022 record of $705.8 represents a 31.1% increase compared to October 2019 before the pandemic. Lawton explained, “Strip continued to benefit from another incredibly powerful sports and entertainment calendar, including concerts, residences and three high-profile sporting events.”
Downtown Las Vegas benefited from the tight schedule of the October event, with extraordinary rock and roll stars such as Eddie Vedder and Van Morrison performing at the Park MGM. The thrill was enhanced by NASCAR events and the Las Vegas Raiders playing two home games at Allegiant Stadium, giving bettors extra chances.
