Korea men’s volleyball to compete in AVC Challenge…Han Tae-joon, Lim Sung-jin, Cha Ji-hwan and others set to compete

The Korea Men’s National Volleyball Team will compete in the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup Men’s Volleyball Tournament from June 2-9 in Manama, Bahrain.

Four players – Lim Sung-jin (KEPCO), Kim Ji-han (Woori Card), Jeong Jeong-yong (Korean Air), and Lee Woo-jin (Verovalimonza) – will serve as outside hitters (left side attackers), while Chae Hwan Chae and Shin Seong-jin (OK Financial Group) will serve as outside hitters (right side attackers). A total of 12 teams will compete in the AVC Challenge Cup, with the winner earning a spot at the FIVB Volleyball Challenger 2024. In Group C, Korea will face Indonesia (June 2) and Qatar (June 3), with the second-place finisher advancing to the quarterfinal playoffs.

The team gathered at the Jincheon Athletes’ Village in early May for about three weeks of domestic training, and will play the Chinese National Team in Beijing, China, from June 23 to 29 to strengthen the team’s international game and organizational skills.

The team will depart Incheon International Airport on May 23 to Beijing, China, for the overseas training camp, and will travel to Bahrain on May 29 for the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup Men’s Volleyball Tournament.
