Chelsea suffer another injury blow…100 million freshman ankle injury

Chelsea, who have been struggling with a rash of injuries, are reeling from the news of Romeo Rabia’s injury.

The UK’s Evening Standard reported on September 9 (KST), “Chelsea are facing fears of a lengthy absence after it was confirmed that Rabia has an ankle injury. Rabia suffered the injury while training at Chelsea’s training ground. The £58 million ($96.6 billion with options) signing is yet to make his Chelsea debut. It’s a blow for the Blues, who have a lot of injuries.”

Looking to bolster their midfield, Chelsea targeted Rabia even after bringing in Moises Queicedo. Rabiot is a Belgian midfielder from Manchester City. He came to City from Anderlecht, where he developed and broke into the first team in 2021. In terms of position, Rabia is a defensive midfielder. He likes to lead the buildup in front of the defense and send forward passes to the left, right, and center.

Since his move to Southampton, he has been a regular starter and has really shown what he can do. Despite Southampton’s relegation, Rabia showed his potential and competitiveness, attracting interest from several big clubs. Of course, he has his flaws. He needs to improve his defensive contribution, his quickness, and his ability to cover. Still, he’s good for his age and has Premier League (PL) experience.

The UK’s The Athletic wrote: “Rabia is an excellent passer and mover. She moves as fluidly as a well-oiled machine and every touch and pass is purposeful. He is unfazed by any situation. He was the only player in possession for Southampton and was good at controlling the tempo and line. Even when the pitch was hot, Rabia’s reading of the game was amazing.”

He was close to joining Liverpool, but Chelsea snatched him up. The Blues beat out Liverpool in the race to sign Rabia, along with Caicedo. Despite his young age, Rabia was immediately recognized as a force to be reckoned with and a resource for the future. Chelsea co-directors Lawrence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: “We are delighted to bring Rabia to Chelsea. His performances in a Southampton shirt in the PL last season were impressive despite his young age. It was a mature performance. I’ve been watching him for a long time. I think he is ready to make an impact for Chelsea in the future.”

Caicedo has made his debut, but Rabia hasn’t, and it seems that injury has forced his departure.

Chelsea have already been hit hard with injuries. Captain Leicester James has a hamstring and center back Wesley Fofana has a knee 토토사이트 injury. Fofana is likely out for the season. Christophe Nkunku is also out, and Kani Chukwuemeka went down against West Ham United. Rabia has also been added to the injury list.

The good news is that Trevor Chalobah, Benoit Badiashil, and Armando Broja are on the verge of returning. However, the injury list continues to grow and Mauricio Pochettino has a lot to worry about.
