Former West Indian captain Brian Lara works for all international teams and receives input from the West Indian Academy to take on responsibilities as a performance mentor. Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced that former West Indies captain and batting legend Brian Lara has agreed to help CWI as a performance mentor, working for all international teams and receiving input from the West Indies Academy. Lara’s new role is to work closely with cricket managers on ICC World Cup strategic planning, as well as to provide tactical advice to players and support various coaches in improving their sense of game. 온라인경마
CWI Cricket Manager Jimmy Adams said: “I’m really looking forward to Brian making a significant contribution to our cricket system by providing invaluable guidance and advice to our players and coaches. We are confident that Brian will help us improve our high-performance mindset and strategic culture, which will bring us more success across all formats. Everyone is excited to have Brian participate in supporting our players.”
Brian Lara said: “Spent time with players and coaches in Australia and having discussions with CWI, I believe players can help their mental approach to the game and their tactics become more successful. I’m looking forward to joining the group in Zimbabwe and working with other West Indies teams later this year.”
The West Indies were thrashed 2-0 in their final Test series after being eliminated in the opening round of the T20 World Cup in Australia last month. Later in November, Nicholas Furan resigned as Whiteball captain. Lara was a member of a review committee set up by CWI to investigate West Indies’ inferiority in the T20 World Cup.
Lara joined various teams for less than 10 months until the ODI World Cup in India and about 18 months until the T20 World Cup in the United States and the Caribbean the following year, but the CWI did not specify how long Lara would work with each team in the future.
