The amount is up nearly 40% this year, compared with last year’s benefit of just under £11,000 ($13,500).
The increase was praised by BGC chief executive Michael Derher.
The former Labour MP, who supported the plan, praised the efforts of retail staff and MPs.
“We have more lawmakers than ever who support the BGC and support the Grand Nationals beyond the political divide,” Derher added, including about 600 million people around the world.
