The Massachusetts Gaming Commission unanimously approved the company’s application after a nearly seven-hour meeting.
The authorization is for a Category 3 license, and the application relates to WinBET’s intention to operate a mobile betting platform from March 2023, when online betting is expected to begin in the state.
In a related development, Jennifer Roberts, vice president and general counsel at WinBET, said, “The Madam Speaker and the members of the committee are honored with this outcome today and look forward to becoming a cooperative partner with the committee in the future.” 슬롯머신사이트
After the passage of legislation regulating sports betting, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s main task was to create regulations to guide the newly legalized sports betting industry in the Commonwealth.
Fifteen sports betting operators applied for Massachusetts licenses in November and were subject to lengthy hearings. However, regulators only approved the application from the port of Encore Boston, making it the state’s first legitimate sports betting operator.
The approval allowed two other casinos, Encore and Massachusetts, to also place bets on professional and college sports, and to apply for future mobile betting licenses, which WinBET did instead of Encore because they were both subsidiaries of Win Resorts.
As a result, WynnBET will partner with Encore in Massachusetts.
