Representative Vincent Candelora recently spoke on the issue, suggesting Connecticut should first tighten its safeties before adding new betting laws. He justified his claim by pointing to a recent suspicious betting incident. However, Representative Matt Ritter noted that regulators had succeeded in identifying previous cases, which meant current measures were effective.

File number 271 replaces House Bill 5284. The bill has passed the committee and will be discussed in the House of Representatives.
