A prison sentence has been handed down to A, the mother of Paju City Councilor Mok Jin-hyuk, who is suspected of obtaining subsidies from Paju City, Gyeonggi Province, by operating an equestrian center and inflating the number of people who experienced horseback riding several times (violating the Act on Local Government Subsidy Management).The Uijeongbu District Public Prosecutors’ Office Goyang Branch said on Nov. 10 that it handed down a one-year prison sentence to A at a determination hearing held by Judge Lee Jung-hoon of the Goyang Support Criminal Division 8.The prosecutor explained the purpose of the sentence, saying, “Mr. A has a poor criminal record by creating false documents that 42 soldiers had a horseback riding experience and submitting them to the Animal Resources Division of the Agricultural Technology Center in Paju City on November 30 last year to obtain 13.12 million won in subsidies.”
Earlier, Paju City recovered 13.12 million won in subsidies, imposed a sanction of 65 million won, and excluded the equestrian center from conducting subsidized projects in Paju City for five years, saying that the equestrian center operated by Mr. A filled out the local subsidy documents differently from the facts.The equestrian center had been conducting experience horseback riding with a subsidy from Paju City since 2021.Mr. A reportedly admitted to the charges in the investigation.The sentencing 스포츠토토존 trial for Mr. A will be held on January 10 next year.
