Ho-Chunk Nation’s proposal to expand bingo halls into casinos would eliminate 1,200 bingo halls to make room for hundreds of slot machines.

Dane County residents will hold a referendum on expanded gambling on Feb. 17 at Dane Bingo Hall, which will allow games such as slot machines, blackjack, poker, and roulette.

If a referendum is passed and Gov. Jim Doyle permits the casino, the bingo hall will be replaced by 600 to 1,000 slot machines, says Hocheng tribal member Gerald Cleveland.

Eventually, table games such as blackjack and poker may be added, but the first expansion will be strictly slot machines, Cleveland said. 온라인경마

The $8 million DeJope is one of four gambling houses run by the tribe. Bingo will continue at Wisconsin Dells, Black River Falls, and Necooosa casinos.

The 80,000-square-foot de Jope now only allows bingo and electronic bingo-style games. It is one of the largest bingo halls in the region and is open every day except Tuesday.
