Buchanan has a long way to go before entering ML without allowing 3.2 innings against Norfolk for the first time in a long time

Former Samsung pitcher David Buchanan, who is seeking to join the Major League, pitched a scoreless game for the first time in 11 games. Still, he has a long way to go.

Buchanan, who plays for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs, a Triple-A team under the Philadelphia Phillies, took the mound in the top of the fourth inning against the Norfolk Ties (under the Baltimore Orioles) at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on the 24th and stopped 3.2 innings with three hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

This is the first scoreless game in 11 games since he took the mound in relief against Scranton/Wilkes Barrie Raythers on April 17 and allowed one hit and no run in four innings. Considering that he has started eight consecutive games since the game against Scranton/Wilkes Barrie Raythers, it is a scoreless game in three games only when considering the bullpen.

Taking the mound in place of starting pitcher David Parkinson in the top of the fourth inning, Buchanan got off to a fresh start by striking out all three batters in the top of the fourth inning. In the top of the fifth inning, he gave up a hit to leadoff batter Conor Pavoloni, but failed to yield any runs as he caught all of his follow-up batters.

Buchanan faced the first crisis in the top of the sixth inning. He allowed a hit to Kobe Mayo and a walk to Kyle Starworth after one out, and rushed to the first and second bases. However, he got out of the crisis by hitting Billy Cook with a 91.8 mile sinker. Buchanan also took the mound in the top of the seventh inning with one out and a walk to Pavoloni and a hit to Noelbus Romero with two outs, before sending the mound to Max Raza. Then, as Raza struck out Connor Novi, Buchanan kept the scoreless game. 토토사이트 추천

Buchanan’s earned run average (ERA) improved to 5.19 due to his scoreless pitching on the day. However, he still lacked stability, as he sent out five runners. His batting average of 0.303 and on-base allowed per inning (WHIP) of 1.49 are still unsatisfactory.

Buchanan, who was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the seventh round of the MLB Rookie Draft in 2010, made his Major League debut in 2014, but left Philadelphia after 2015 and joined Samsung in 2020 after playing for the Yakult Swallows in the Japanese professional baseball league, and played as the ace for Samsung for four seasons until last year. After the season, he refused Samsung’s offer to renew his contract, sought to return to the Major League, and signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies that includes participation in the spring camp. However, he failed in the spring camp and exhibition games, and ended up starting the season in the minor leagues.

If you look at it now, it is difficult to enter the Major League. The Philadelphia Phillies have a 3.09 ERA, ranking first in the entire Major League. Not only the starters but also Matt Strahm, Jeff Hoffman and Jose Alvarado are in good shape.

Even if Buchanan performs well, he cannot guarantee promotion, so if he stays at this level, there is no way for Major League Baseball. It’s good to turn the mood around with a scoreless pitch in a long time, but we still have to show more.
