Concerns are mounting over his lack of playing time.
“I sincerely hope that something will change for Christian Eriksen (31, Manchester United),” Danish national soccer team coach Kasper Hulmand said in an interview, according to a report by British media outlet TeamTalk on Thursday.
“A talented player like Eriksen needs playing time. I hope this will happen at United. It’s not good that he’s not getting enough playing time.”
Eriksen is considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He scored 69 goals and provided 90 assists in 305 games for Tottenham Hotspur between 2013 and 2020, earning him the title of midfield genius.
The challenge continued at United. Eriksen left Brentford as a free agent in 2022 to join United. Eriksen’s vast experience and skill set were expected to be a great addition to the team.
United were not wrong. Eriksen’s game hasn’t changed much from his time at Tottenham. His creativity and crisp passing have energized the Red Devils’ midfield.
The stats back it up. Eriksen scored two goals and provided 10 assists in 44 games across all competitions last season. It was enough to make him a key part of United’s midfield.
The atmosphere this season is very different from last season. Eriksen made just 20 appearances across all competitions. In the league, he has started just nine games.
He seems to be losing the battle for the starting role. In his last three league games, Eriksen has only played 37 minutes off the bench in one of them. With Kobi Mainu (18) on a 토토 meteoric rise as of late, it’s even harder for him to get playing time.
There are growing concerns about Eriksen. “Eriksen is not in the best situation at the moment,” said Hulmand. I really hope that changes. If that happens, we will see the perfect Eriksen. I know him very well.”
“But if things continue as they are now, he could end up like the others. If he doesn’t get more minutes than he is getting now, there will be concerns about his performance,” he added, emphasizing the importance of playing time.
It’s looking increasingly likely that Eriksen will say goodbye to United this summer. Eriksen, who has completely lost the race for a starting spot, is reportedly keen to leave the club for a new challenge.
