The European Game and Betting Association (EGBA) has expressed its approval for the European Union’s new Digital ID Act. The new regulations, approved by the European Parliament on Feb. 29, will introduce standardized European Digital ID (e-ID) procedures for citizens and businesses in EU member states.
The new measure seeks to protect the privacy and security of customers in the union by allowing them to prove their identities without having to rely on third-party providers. It addresses initial concerns about commercial providers’ ability to protect consumer data.
The e-IDAS Act amends the eIDAS regulations. It must be formally approved by the Council of Ministers of the EU before it can be formally adopted. 슬롯머신
The EGBA noted that standardized noncommercial identification methods will provide many benefits, including enhanced data security, which will minimize the risk of identity theft and fraud.
The association praised the innovative tool, saying it would address many of the current concerns. It also added that e-ID’s streamlined approach would reduce business costs for many companies, including gambling operators, while increasing users’ confidence in digital transactions.
However, the EGBA acknowledged that the success of the e-ID concept ultimately depends on the participation rate of citizens, as it is entirely voluntary use.
